Wargame Company - Devon: 2009 Umbraco Migration & Game-Changing UX Enhancements
In 2009, Wargame Company - Devon underwent a significant digital transformation, moving their website onto Umbraco—making it one of the earliest sites we built on the platform. This migration gave their team complete control over content updates while setting the foundation for exciting new gameplay additions and improved user engagement.
Introducing Tank Paintball & Addressing Player Safety
As part of their ongoing innovation in outdoor adventure experiences, Wargame Company - Devon introduced Tank Paintball, a thrilling new game mode. We ensured this was prominently featured on the new website, enticing players with detailed descriptions and visuals.
Additionally, customer feedback identified player safety as a major barrier for potential new participants. To address this, we introduced a dedicated Safety Section outlining all safety measures, equipment standards, and best practices to reassure hesitant players.
First-of-Its-Kind Interactive Game Zone Map
To enhance the user experience, we created the first interactive game zone map using Adobe Flash. This allowed visitors to explore the different battlefields and play zones, giving them a preview of the environments they would encounter.
Key Features & Enhancements
- Umbraco CMS Integration: Allowed the Wargame Company team to manage all content, pricing, and game details effortlessly.
- Tank Paintball Promotion: A dedicated section showcasing the newly launched game mode.
- Player Safety Focus: A comprehensive guide to safety measures, tackling one of the biggest barriers to new bookings.
- Flash-Based Interactive Game Zone Map: The first of its kind, giving players an immersive look at battle zones before their visit.
