The Elms, a local pre-prep and early years school already had a website nearly completed when due to lack of contact and complications with their existing web designer, they approached us to help them.
How We Helped
We took the existing website design and added a Content Management System (CMS) to give The Elms control over the website's content, something that they have taken full advantage of.
Despite having a website design in place and coded up, there were a number of issues with the code used so we quickly rebuilt it making the site far more usable.
Calendar
The Elms School needed a calendar on their website showing upcoming events, from sports fixtures to school trips. We created a calendar that displayed all the important dates in a timeline format, incorporating a colour-coded key which follows you as you scroll down the page.
Calendar Event
When parents, pupils or teachers click on certain events, they can save the event to their personal diary (whether iPhone, iPad or Outlook). Each event page also displays a map with directions and, if logged in, shows the attending pupils. After the event, The Elms School can upload the score and a match report.
