In 2018, Concilio Communications engaged us to address performance and usability challenges on their existing website. The homepage was burdened with approximately 85,000 lines of code, leading to slow load times and a suboptimal user experience. Additionally, the site featured multiple redundant menus, causing confusion among visitors.
Building upon our previous collaboration with Managing Director Nick Dines during his tenure at Belgrave Communications, we undertook a comprehensive redesign and rebuild of the website using the Umbraco CMS. Our focus was on streamlining the codebase—reducing the homepage to under 800 lines without sacrificing functionality—and enhancing both administrative manageability and user navigation.
To enrich the site's content and provide visitors with comprehensive insights into the company's activities, we integrated several key sections:
- News Section: A dedicated area to publish updates, industry insights, and company announcements, keeping clients and stakeholders informed about the latest developments.
- Projects Portfolio: Detailed showcases of current and past projects, highlighting Concilio's expertise and the breadth of their work across various sectors.
- Team Overview: Profiles of team members, offering clients a personal connection to the professionals behind the projects and emphasizing the company's diverse skill sets.
The revamped site now offers a more intuitive interface, allowing administrators to easily update content and users to navigate seamlessly. We completed this transformation within a few weeks, significantly improving site performance and user satisfaction.
