Building on the success of Chalkboards UK, Porter & Woodman setup Wooden Box UK which manufactures wooden boxes. Having built the original website in-house, they called on us to improve the website including adding credit card payments.

2011 Website Redesign

Rather than moving the website to our newer e-commerce website platform, this year, Wooden Box UK decided it would be best to update the look and feel of the website bringing it more in line with current standards.

We always enjoy being able to flex our design muscles so welcomed the challenge. Having built the previous website meant that we had access to plenty of visitor analytics including where they were from, what they did when they got there and ultimately where they went.

Using these insights meant we were able to quickly design a fun and inviting site incorporating new but subtle up sells and an easier to navigate product catalogue.

Controllable by Wooden Box UK, products can be flagged as being a best seller, new product, best rated along with a number of other calls-to-action. This has seen a clear improvement in drawing the visitor's attention to products.

Although the existing product page's design didn't appear to cause too many problems with the existing visitor base, we carefully redesigned the product details page making it a little clearer. 

Another of the requests from Wooden Box UK for the new site was the addition of "Related Products" functionality to up sell additional products which were similar to the item the visitor was viewing. This addition has worked well and the click tracking clearly shows in this instance visitor’s benefit.
